First, this is a great Gi. The material is plenty heavy. I get that nice "snap" that makes it sound like I'm better at my art than I really am. Overall I'm happy with this and would buy it again.Sizing:I'm 6'1", 225lbs, athletic build. According to the sizing chart I need a 6.5.The trousers are humongous in the waist. I could almost fit two of me in there. Even when I cinch the drawstring up it's difficult to get tight because there's so much extra material in the waist that it bunches up a lot. I can get it, it just would prefer it to be much less wide. The length is OK. They go all the way to the floor. I don't like my trouser legs that long so I just roll them up and because the material is so thick they just stay like that. The jacket is a little trickier. The shoulder width is perfect. The seams where the sleeves are stitched to the body are just past my shoulders by about 1-inch. The length is a bit longer than I'd like though. The ties are below my waist by an inch or so, which causes the jacket to want to hike up a bit if I tie them too tight. The body rather loose as well. When sitting or stretching or anything other than working Kata really I feel like I could shrug my shoulders up and disappear into it like Roderigo from Babes in Toyland. The sleeves go to my wrists. Again, longer than I like so I roll them up a few turns and they stay put.I contacted Kamikaze and they said this is supposed to be a longer, looser Gi, so what I described above is what they expected.I considered exchanging it for a 6, but what is interesting to me is my Sensei is 5'9, 220lbs. He has this same Gi in a 6 and it fits him perfectly. So, instead of exchanging it I decided I'd just wash & dry it to try and shrink it some. it has a bit, but not a whole lot.Overall I like this Gi a lot and would definitely purchase it again. However, rather than buying it as a set I would probably order the jacket & trousers separately so I could get a much smaller trouser size.
